  1. Not at all what Pete Smith said. Sad...that he's such a LIAR, but sad that this is the council's position.

  3. Mr. Slagel,
Remember when you told me you couln't think of a reason peter smith would lie about this? Now that you hear it for yourself, don't you think it shows a total lack of respect for not only the residents, but the councilmembers he lied to?

  4. When will it be apparent that those folks don't care what the truth is? They will continue to believe that the longer they spin out what they prefer as the truth it will be taken as gospel. Hopefully, that tactic will finally be shown as the failure it should have been long ago and as the failure it is now.

  5. The recording is almost exactly what the attny said during the council session. Not sure where the differences are.

  6. anonymous @ 10:12 pm, wishful thinking on your part. But please do continue to lie to yourself about the facts. If you need hearing aide to help, just holler, loudly.
Smith got his hour before the council, I would bet that opposing council will too. When he does, listen then too, I am sure he will point out the incorrect statement Smith made.

  7. Why not help us and point out the incorrect statement yourself?

There is no way that opposing counsel would present a briefing on this lawsuit to City Council. Council isn't a court, doesn't employ the attorney, and he wouldn't want to give away his strategy.

  8. @anonymous 12:23. You sound like a city employee from your tone. Are you?

  9. Nope. Just using common sense. Why would counsel ever want to pass along their thoughts and strategy to the opposition? Mr Smith works for the Council so it would be expected that he would brief the Council.

  10. Anon @ 1:19, you are probably very warm, approaching hot. I read that the same way as you.

Anon @ 12:23 and 2:39, assuming you are a city employee, you must be low on the pecking order there at the city. The day after Smith's dawg and pony show, Gordon's lawyer asked for 30 minutes to respond. You should have known that.

As for your "why not help us" statement, we are trying to help you. But you will not listen.

  11. This is getting good, so now I will weigh in. How many times in the past has the city attorney publicly brief the council on the status of a lawsuit AGAINST the city. Every other time the briefings like this have taken place, they were behind closed doors in Executive Session.

So as anonymous @ 2:54 pointed out, it had the appearance of a "dawg and pony show" more than it had the appearance of a normal type of briefing of the council.

  12. Just ignore the city employees on here, they'll go back to skimming expense accounts and bilking the residents any minute now.

  13. @anon 12:33. How about they are just want to rub our nose in it. Or how about they just want to say I told you so. Maybe they don't deserve to know. Any of that sound familiar from the audio of the hearing? Did I just happen to miss those statements from Smith's dog and pony show?
