Let's just keep it real.

So I have to admit, over the weekend I was kind of excited about the flurry of attention C&P was getting, and even thought about asking (again) if the "anonymous" posters could please pick an alias and stick with it, as trying to decipher the different commenters can get a bit tricky when they are all named "anonymous."

....I was, that is, until it was brought to my attention that the same insomniac (who shall remain "anonymous") posted 14 of the 17 comments.

Don't believe me? Check the log...

Here's the deal, I'm not trying to call you out, but at the same time, you're giving all anonymous commenters a bad name...plus, you've got my phone blowing up with e-mail alerts at absurd hours of the night.

Anyway, just thought it was fair to remind everyone, I* can tell when you're being crazytown and arguing with yourself...on a blog...at 4 in the morning.

*by I, of course I mean my good friend who actually follows this stuff and knows how to read it.

  1. It may reveal a character defect in me, but I was tempted to add a comment in the wee hours of the morning just to send an email alert to your phone... :-)

  3. Good detective work, although, you gotta remember that about 70% of all Richardson internet users use AT&T/sbcglobal (as opposed to cable), so they are going to appear as the same user. I suspect that there are posts made by some of the same people, but don't underestimate the number of folks who post her. It's probably pretty high. P.S. I use sbcglobal, so I am sure I will show up as a duplicate poster here, but, honestly, this is the first time I have posted.

  4. Comment submitted by a friend to you Anon 2:27-

"Each internet connection has its own ip address. The IP address of the person making the multiple post while pretending to be different people is 99.8.57.213

As can be seen in the post after yours, that other person with AT&T has an IP address of 99.164.79.156.

So your claim that you cannot tell one AT&T address from another is false.

  6. Here's the deal, I'm not planning on following this stuff and for the most part couldn't care less. But when I see the veil of anonymity being abused I'll look into it. That being said, I REALLY appreciate the commenters who post using at least an alias. Makes you more credible and your insights easier to follow.

So Anon, pick one & please keep commenting. I have a feeling your input is valuable, and now that we're all above board I'd really like to hear what you have to say!
