So this thing happened....

Ok, so this post seems stupid and scatterbrained and only makes sense to the handful of people who know what actually happened (of which I am not one) so I'm just gonna take it down.

  2. I dunno, we're close, but he's yet to fart in front of me. ;)

  3. Not this subject, but... Great article in the DMN this a. m. Maybe it will actually get some pro-lfe doctors to open clinics.

  5. Thanks for posting this. You presented the situation - both sides of it - in a very non-biased way. Really, only Omar, Solomon, and the no-name insurance guy know the truth. It's probably somewhere in the middle.

Bottom line - and I agree - it is extremely wierd - and I will even say inappropropriate - for a sitting city council member like Amir Omar to meet with a Richardson business owner who he doesn't know and have this kind of conversation. Regardless of Omar's intentions, it could be easily interpreted as a form of "intimidation" - which is the version I heard. Don't know if it is true, but it is a bit unsettling.

Not sure what compelled Omar to have this meeting. C'mon, like the no-name insurance guy isn't fully aware of the RCA and wasn't going to alert them of Omar antics? Or, that Omar was somehow going to "charm" him in to throwing the RCA out of their space? Yeah, right. Foolish, amatuer mistake on Omar's part that will, most likely, resurface again and again during the campaign the next two months.

  6. Total weird that two sitting council members would try using soft intimidation methods in what appears to be an attempt at running off their opposition. It seems as if both first termers are learning lots from the corner office. Neither deserves a council position with actions like this, IMHO.

  7. Why did you take the post down, Destiny? It didn't sound scatterbrained at all. Did Omar or Solomon put some pressure on you to take it down? No telling what "sweet nothings" Omar said to you to get you to do it! Everyone knows you and Omar are close, but you finally showed some objectivity with this post. Best case scenario, what Amir Omar did was WRONG, and you had every right to call him out on it. I'd ask that you restore the post. :)

  8. It probably didn't sound scatterbrained to you because you're probably one of the people who heard the story first hand.

5 other people contacted me yesterday either by phone, text, or e-mail saying they didn't understand what I was trying to say. 3 of them were RCA supporters. (Schnurr was the one that broke the camels back. I trust his judgment)

As for Amir, he has never once told me what to write (or not write) on this blog. I wish I could say the same for others...

  9. Actually, I didn't hear the story first hand - I heard it second hand from both sides of the political perspective, much like you. I thought what you wrote was clear as a bell to me. The content was great. Why not "tweak" it to your satisfaction then repost it? You now have your (5) readers very intrigued - LOL.

P.S. Not sure why Schnurr was arguing for you to take it down, but word has it that he and Amir have gotten quite cozy recently!

And, I find it hard to believe that Amir has never tried to influence you on what to write. I know you are friends, so that just doesn't sound reasonable. Just sayin'...
