A Conservative's Take on Richardson, Texas Politics & Other Local Tomfoolery
The town drunk Bob Townsend is who I would pick if those were my only two choices.
The town drunk...and pray that LM is Pro Tem.However, say what you will about Mitchell; as a councilman everyone knows that he is wishy washy and wants all the love, but he speaks well, and is generally well liked. He was a good mayor in that respect. Also, unlike omar, he really is for a better Richardson, while omar lives to promote himself up the political ladder, and Richardson is just the first rung.
You're delusional if you think Steve doesn't have higher ambitions as well.
Mitchell wants to be county commissioner. He won't make it. Time is passed for conservatives in Dallas County.
Yeah, Steve has ties to Richardson for over 45 years, and has spent the last 20 years serving on various boards, commissions, the city council, and as mayor just to use it to springboard to another office. Frankly, if was "in it" to "spring" to higher office, then don't you think that he would have "sprung" a long time ago. And, so what if he did, wouldn't that be great to have a "hometown" guy move to higher office?
Omar. All reasons in other post.
Speculate all one wants. Mitchell had his opportunity as Mayor.Blew it. Won't get another chance. Hope he resigns to run for County Commissioner. Has no chance in a larger pond.
